This law, effective July 1st, 2014, restricts sending Commercial Electronic Messages (CEM’s) to Canadian citizens and businesses located in Canada for the purpose of commercial solicitation without their expressed consent. The penalty for non-compliance is up to $10 million dollars in fines and personal liability of officers and directors.
